SOL #20 – 3/20/12 Things I'm Thankful For
The other night at our small group, we were asked to name two things that we’ve been thankful for this year. I thought to myself “TWO”, just two, that seemed so simple – maybe the key words were “this year”. And so I decided it’s time for me to write about my “Two” things.
No. 1 – of course, the obvious – My immediate family – husband, son and his girlfriend, daughter and son-in-law, granddaughters. They are what makes my life whole.
No. 2 – My faith in God – without Him, my life would be nothing.
So you thought I’d stop at two???
No. 3 – Friends – near and far – people to share with and care about.
No. 4 – My daughter’s encouragement to write these slices every day. This has made me so much more aware of the things I experience and see every day. Reading and commenting have opened me up to a whole new arena.
No. 5 – My health – yes, I have aches and pains, but nothing compared to others.
No. 6 – The beautiful area where we live.
No. 7 – Spring – what more can I say. Changing of the season – each one is special in it’s own way.
No. 8 – Books to read, enjoy and learn.
No. 9 – My crafts – they give me fulfillment and allow me to share with others.
No. 10 – Music – I love to sing and enjoy listening to the sound of different instruments.
My list could go on and on, but I’ll stop at ten. I give each of you my thanks for your comments and for becoming a part of my life.

So much to be thankful for . . . this year! That does change your thinking when you add those words to the question. I guess it narrows your thinking to focus on the present. I'll be thinking about this one . . .
ReplyDeleteThrough your list, I can infer you have a very full and rich life. May it continue to be so.
ReplyDeleteJudy, so many things to be thankful for! I agree with you we all need to step back each day and think about the good in our lives, and not focus on what seems negative or sad often that can be a challenge but worth keeping the focus on the good! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good idea not to stop at two when making this list. Can't help but smile when reading this list.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the things you are thankful for. I could not imagine how you could stop at two, and you didn't. This encouraged me.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you didn't stop at two because #4 is great! This slicing has been a rewarding experience. I love to write, but I haven't done much personal writing for years. Wishing you many more things to add to your list!
