SOLSC 3/18/14 - The Ups and Downs of our Weather

Friday and Saturday
brought sun and warmth
Sunday first brought rain, 
then sleet
then snow and wind
Monday began cold 
with snow covering the ground
The sun came out 
the snow turned to slush
The slush turned to mud
The snow disappeared

What will tomorrow bring
Will it be warm or cold
Will it be sunny or cloudy
Will spring ever get here?

And once it arrives, of course, 
we'll only complain that
it's too hot and too humid
Too rainy, too dry.

Are we ever content with
what Mother Nature give us?

    It's sure is the yoyo of all seasons Judy! Today 50 tonight and tomorrow chance of snow ;-( Maybe the lesson is not never ever complain about warm weather again . . . although I never do warm weather is the BEST!

    You've depicted the ups and downs so well. Yes, the melting brings on the mud, yuck. I am so ready for the warmer winds to blow all the cold away.

    The ups and downs of the weather. So true. It seems that we are never content ... I'm thinking we just need embrace the beauty each day brings -- whether it's a glimpse of sunshine, a big white puffy cloud, a cool breeze, a solid gray cloud...there is always a little beauty in the day.

SOL 18/31 - The Realtor's Came Yesterday

Yesterday, the realtor's came to look at our house.  Our realtor only brings his own people thru, so it wasn't too bad.  Max slept thru most of it until they went upstairs where he was sleeping.  He barked briefly, came downstairs, got petted and pampered a little.  They walked thru the house, in the bedroom, up the stairs, down the stairs, looked things over, asked a few questions and 15 minutes later out the door they went. Our realtor told me he has had a couple of calls - one from a neighbor (being nosy) and another from a realtor who said this house is exactly what his clients are looking for, but they had just left the day before it was listed.  But could they put in an offer sight unseen?  Really???  Is this just a realtor's ploy to make us feel good or is it real?  No offer yet, but who knows.  It could happen. I breathed a sigh of relief.  Max looked at me as if to say "Is that it?  Can I go back to sleep now?". ...

Tuesday SOL 10/23/12 - Mr. Pockets goes to school

Last week there was an article in our local newspaper that I found fascinating and wanted to share it with you.  This is a story about a dog who listens as children read out loud.  It's a new program in our school district and I'm proud that our district is using this innovative program to help students learn. Animals are so loving, caring and accepting, and the students love to have someone that they can read to and to be loved unconditionally. Tuesday SOL - 9/25/12 - A New Beginning for a Special Couple

Several weeks ago we were invited to a wedding for two very dear friends.  What a special occasion it was!  This is the second marriage for both of them and they are in their early 70's.  But, before telling you about the wedding, you need to know "the rest of the story". Jeannie's husband died about 10 years ago from heart related problems.  Several years after his death, she was involved in a terrible automobile accident and was never expected to walk again.  But through sheer determination (and the help of God) she walks without the aid of crutches.  At this point she really didn't have God in her life and I'm not sure at what point she found God (or more than likely, God found her).  She always asked God to find her that special man who had faith, was kind, had a great sense of humor and who loved her.
