Tuesday SOL 11/8/16 - Being Thankful
Each day I'm thankful for all the blessing that I receive, but I've been really thinking about how much I take for granted. So today, my slice is about those little things.
I'm thankful for:
My family and friends (of course)
Our dog, Max (who can be such a nuciance, but what will I do when he's gone)
My church and the family that I have acquired over the years
God - who has accepted me as His Child and for His daily forgiveness
My eyesight to see the wonders around me
My ears to hear
My hands that give me the ability to work and play
My feet that allow me to walk
My body that functions (most of the time) allowing me to do what I want and need to do
My brain that helps me comprehend, learn, read,,,
My compassion to help others
Our home and all the "things" that we can't live without
Hot and cold running water
A gas stove to cook on
Heat/Air conditioning to make life comfortable
A dishwasher, washer and dryer
A refrigerator to keep food cold
A plentiful pantry
A comfortable bed and pillow
Good vehicles that get us where we need to go
Books and crafts
Time to sit and relax
Time to help others
The country that we live in
The freedoms that we have
The ability to speak whats on our minds
The freedom to vote (even if our choices are limited)
The men and women who have served and continue to serve in our armed forces
The men and women who are police officers, firemen, paramedics, teachers
For each of you who share your slices on a weekly basis and take the time to comment.
This list could go on and on because I am truly blessed.

There is so much we take for granted, we do have lives that have been blessed.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post. Yes, we do take so much for granted. We need to stop, take stock of all we have, and give thanks God for all he gives and does for us.
ReplyDeleteSo much to be thankful for ... I think it is smart to take time to reflect on all that we do have because we can be overwhelmed with what we don't have or the negativity of life. This is a beautiful list, Mom!
