Tuesday SOL 10/21/14 - Four Days & Counting

One year ago A trip completed An amazing week Coming off a high Sharing, remembering Wanting to go again. Another trip planned Six months, then Four months, and Now only four days away! My packing lists are complete All necessities are purchased Sharing with new mission partners Checking the internet to see where we're staying, what we'll be seeing Excitement is building The suitcase will soon come out Selecting clothes for both cool & hot Preparing for a high altitude What a birthday present to me! A trip to Guatemala Helping, caring, sharing with those in need. Receiving so much in return. I'm ready & anxious with anticipation.

Tuesday SOL 10/14/14 - Max Writes

Mom was having a hard time thinking of something to write about, so I volunteered to write this week.  Last Wednesday, Mom took me to visit my third set of parents.  Mom & Dad along with my second set of parents were going away for an overnight trip to a concert in Fayetteville, AR.  They really like this group called "Home Free".  They make their music without any accompaniment of musical instruments -  you know, they call it a cappela.  I bet I could sing with them. Well, whatever, they left me with Ray & Kathy.  I like it there too.  They treat me really good and I adapt to their routine.  One time I stayed there, Kathy left out the bowl of M & M's and it was really good.  But, she learned her lesson and put them away - darn!  Ray loves to get down on the floor and play - so I made sure I rested up all day so I could roughhouse with him. Tuesday SOL 10/7/14 - A Tribute to a Dear Friend

A week ago, the First Responder truck sped past our house.  My husband and I both looked at each other and asked "Phil or Sandra?"  Five minutes later the ambulance came flying down the road, going past their drive, toward the end of the road, only to return and pull into their drive.  A half hour later, ambulance, First Responder and another vehicle left, lights flashing, speeding into town. We didn't hear anything until later that afternoon - our dear friend, Sandra had passed away from congestive heart failure.  She was 72, had been sick off and on over the past few years.  She had just celebrated her birthday the week before. We attended the memorial service on Sunday and Pastor asked if anyone would like to remember Sandra.  I didn't stand up and share, but thought of the many memories that we had made over the last 15 years.  I'd like to share some of them in this slice. We met Sandra when we started building our home.  They moved in...
