Tuesday SOL 5/31/16 - Pausing to Listen & Remember
Yesterday morning (Memorial Day), Hubby and I sat on our front porch sipping our coffee and reflecting on the day. Usually there is a flurry of activities in the early morning, as cars enter and exit our subdivision. But this morning, it was quiet - nary a car was seen. We watched the sun rise over the trees, a few clouds in the sky, no breeze blowing the leaves. The birds flitted by and landed in the tree. They sang their songs welcoming the morning's arrival. In the distance we could hear dogs barking and the cows mooing. We could hear the faint sound of cars on the main road and then to interrupt our peace, the garbage truck came rushing through. But this was a day to remember and honor all those who gave their lives so that we can enjoy the peace of each morning.
