Last week we basked in warm temps Sunny skies Sunday the snow flittered out of the sky Very lightly and pretty As the day wore on, the snow continued Larger flakes Stacking one upon another Grey skies Gloomy day Not so pretty snow An inch, then two  It stopped Only to begin again on Monday Another inch, maybe two or three The wind blew The temperatures dropped Ice formed on the pond and roads Tuesday, frigid temps Gusty wind Sunny skies Prediction for the weekend 60+ and sunny The Ozark's Changing Weather  

Predictions of Freezing rain Sleet Ice Snow Be prepared Stay inside It's coming! Schools cancelled Businesses closed Warnings to stay home Praying the power will stay on And it came The freezing rain & sleet one day Snow the next Finally it stopped But not until there was 3" of ice topped with 8" of snow Followed by bone chilling temperatures More cancellations, more warnings But the power stayed on and we were safe inside with a nice warm fire to keep us warm. Day 5 still cooped up in the house, maybe tomorrow.....

 Even though the calendar says "Spring", Old Man Winter is not ready to give up.  Thursday they predicted that we would be getting snow starting at noon - 3 to 5 inches, but the sun kept shining.  By 3:00 p.m. the clouds had rolled in and by 4:00 p.m., there were flurries in the air.  When we went to bed it was still snowing and there were 2 inches on the deck.  This morning we woke up to this. The snow was wet and heavy. The little bushes were covered and hanging low. The branches of the Crepe Myrtle were blanketed in white. No sunshine this morning, but the temps are moving upward and the snow has started to melt.  The heavy snow is falling in clumps from the trees.  By tomorrow, we will be able to see the ground again.  We need the moisture as we've been in a drought for several years.  But must winter keep hanging on?  I am ready for Spring!
