Tuesday SOL 10/21/14 - Four Days & Counting

One year ago
A trip completed
An amazing week
Coming off a high
Sharing, remembering
Wanting to go again.

Another trip planned
Six months, then
Four months, and
Now only four days away!

My packing lists are complete
All necessities are purchased
Sharing with new mission partners
Checking the internet to see where
we're staying, what we'll be seeing
Excitement is building
The suitcase will soon come out
Selecting clothes for both cool & hot
Preparing for a high altitude

What a birthday present to me!
A trip to Guatemala
Helping, caring, sharing
with those in need.
Receiving so much in return.

I'm ready & anxious with anticipation.

SOL 18/31 - The Realtor's Came Yesterday

Yesterday, the realtor's came to look at our house.  Our realtor only brings his own people thru, so it wasn't too bad.  Max slept thru most of it until they went upstairs where he was sleeping.  He barked briefly, came downstairs, got petted and pampered a little.  They walked thru the house, in the bedroom, up the stairs, down the stairs, looked things over, asked a few questions and 15 minutes later out the door they went. Our realtor told me he has had a couple of calls - one from a neighbor (being nosy) and another from a realtor who said this house is exactly what his clients are looking for, but they had just left the day before it was listed.  But could they put in an offer sight unseen?  Really???  Is this just a realtor's ploy to make us feel good or is it real?  No offer yet, but who knows.  It could happen. Tuesday SOL 10/23/12 - Mr. Pockets goes to school

Last week there was an article in our local newspaper that I found fascinating and wanted to share it with you.  This is a story about a dog who listens as children read out loud.  It's a new program in our school district and I'm proud that our district is using this innovative program to help students learn. Animals are so loving, caring and accepting, and the students love to have someone that they can read to and to be loved unconditionally.
