 I had something totally different that I had planned to write today, but then I received an e-mail with this video attached. The Path of a Warrior I also watched the Memorial Day Concert from The Capitol.  It was very moving and brought tears to my eyes with each tribute. Both of these made me think about how far we have gotten away from celebrating the true meaning of Memorial Day.  How many people truly know what this day is all about?  Do we celebrate because it's a day off of work, a long weekend, the beginning of summer, picnic or BBQ? Or do we truly remember why this special day was created? When I was growing up, this day was called "Decoration Day" - we decorated the graves of those who died fighting for our country.  And then the name was changed to "Memorial Day" - a day set aside to remember the loss of those who fought for our freedom.  My Dad was very active in the American Legion and Mom in the Auxiliary.  Because of them,...

Whenever Mom is home, I don't get a whole lot of rest.  You see, I have to keep an eye on her at all times.  I really worry about her and don't want her out of my sight.  I love my Dad too, but I'm pretty much like him and don't get too concerned about things - unless Mom is around.  Dad is more content to sit at the computer or watch TV, but Mom...  Well, she is constantly on the move.  So when she's home, I have to keep one eye open and be ready to move at a moment's notice. We have to go outside to read on the back deck or front porch.  Or sometimes we go out to wash the car - I really like that because I get to roam the yard.  Then she heads upstairs to make cards or scrapbook.  That's another favorite spot of mine (and usually where I sleep when it's only me and Dad).  About the time I get all comfy, off she goes to do something else.  In the early morning (when I should really be sleeping), she heads downstairs to exercise...

What to write? My mind is blank Nothing exciting (or unexciting) has happened Hubby's suggestions fall flat Just the mundane, slow paced life But wait, I have so much to be thankful for I got phone calls and cards for Mother's Day I have good health, with just a few aches & pains thrown in I have family and friends who surround me with love I have my faith in a loving God who blesses me daily I have time to sit and read   or do my crafts, or do nothing I have a beautiful home situated in a great area I have our dog, Max, who is a joy I have a writing community who reads and comments I have exciting times to look forward to   A trip to Florida with family   A visit from family in August   A second trip to Guatemala So even though I don't have anything   to write about, I have lots to be thankful for.

They jumped a while and then off to the Farmers Market and the Big Truck exhibition More jumping Running Playing Opening presents Eating cake More jumping Until it was time to deflate it. According to M & P - This was the best birthday EVER! P.S.  The M & M pillow was a big hit.
