Tuesday SOL 1/31/17 - Waiting & Anticipation

Image
Sometimes I feel like a kid - waiting and anticipating for something special to happen - Christmas, birthdays, last day of school, reaching a special age.  The list is endless of what kids wait for and anticipate.  But as an adult, I too have to wait and anticipate - vacations, home improvements, reaching a milestone birthday. spring.... Today I'm waiting/anticipating a call from our cabinet man to install two pantry cabinets in my kitchen and move my refrigerator to a better spot.  Today I'm waiting/anticipating Saturday when we fly to Sacramento for a week's stay in Angels Camp to enjoy someplace we've never been.  I'm anticipating lots of wine tastings, good food, beautiful scenery and hopefully warmer temps (although from the weather station, that's not looking very good). I'm just as antsy as a kid, waiting for something special to happen.

Tuesday SOL 1/24/17 - Sunshine and a Breath of Fresh Air

Image
While other parts of the country are gearing up for storms and dealing with the aftermath of tornados, we in the Ozarks are enjoying a very mild winter. We've had our fair share of cold (for us), dreary, wet (rain only) days.  But today the sun is shining brightly and we may enjoy a 60 degree day. Ahhh, sunshine and a breath of fresh air.  At least for today.  It's only the end of January and winter could lash out at us at any time. Prayers go out to all who have experienced the severe winter weather of snow and ice, excessive rain and flooding, mudslides and tornados. For today, my world is filled with the JOY of sunshine and warmer temps.

Tuesday SOL 1/17/17 - Thought to Ponder

Every time I come down with a cold, I wonder: After all these years and research, WHY CAN'T THEY CURE THE COMMON COLD? I think I have finally come up with a good reason: THE PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES WOULD GO BROKE! I wandered the aisles in search of just the RIGHT medicine to help relieve ALL my symptoms, but I would have had to purchase at least five different medicines just to feel somewhat better. There are medications for: stuffy nose runny nose decongestants to help unstuff the previous medicine aches sinus extra strength night time day time cough syrups fever reducers All from different companies.  All with warnings. I stood there looking, reading, my mind in a fuss, because I didn't know which symptom to treat without causing something else to flare up.  How to choose? What worked last time, will it work again? Finally, I gave up.  Chose one that worked last time.  Did it help, you may ask? Well, one day it worked, the next not s...
