Word of the Day #9 - FREE - Karen Grunberg

To be free - free to be who I want to be, free to do what I want to do, free to do something new and different, free to quit something if I don't enjoy it.

I'm so thankful that we live in a country where we have freedom - there are times when people take advantage of this freedom and ruin it for others.  When you hear about the oppression in other countries, we are truly blessed to live in America.  We take our freedom for granted and most of the time we don't even think about being free - unless we perceive something being taken from us.

Lord, you have given me the freedom to choose what I want to do.  I ask that you guide me to live my life to be free from sin, free to help others, free to accept others as they are, free to enjoy your blessings, free to share your love.

SOL 18/31 - The Realtor's Came Yesterday

Yesterday, the realtor's came to look at our house.  Our realtor only brings his own people thru, so it wasn't too bad.  Max slept thru most of it until they went upstairs where he was sleeping.  He barked briefly, came downstairs, got petted and pampered a little.  They walked thru the house, in the bedroom, up the stairs, down the stairs, looked things over, asked a few questions and 15 minutes later out the door they went. Our realtor told me he has had a couple of calls - one from a neighbor (being nosy) and another from a realtor who said this house is exactly what his clients are looking for, but they had just left the day before it was listed.  But could they put in an offer sight unseen?  Really???  Is this just a realtor's ploy to make us feel good or is it real?  No offer yet, but who knows.  It could happen. I breathed a sigh of relief.  Max looked at me as if to say "Is that it?  Can I go back to sleep now?". ...

Tuesday SOL 10/23/12 - Mr. Pockets goes to school

Last week there was an article in our local newspaper that I found fascinating and wanted to share it with you.  This is a story about a dog who listens as children read out loud.  It's a new program in our school district and I'm proud that our district is using this innovative program to help students learn. Animals are so loving, caring and accepting, and the students love to have someone that they can read to and to be loved unconditionally.
