SOL #23 – 3/23/12 – Time to Head North
Max looks questioningly – Where are “WE” going?
Sorry Max, you’re staying home with Dad
Max wags his tail in thanks
The clothes are packed
The laptop is in the bag
Got my vitamins
Maybe I need extra ones for energy
Got my book (don’t need extra, Michelle’s got plenty)
Got audio books for the road
Got my yarn for crocheting
Won’t have time for other crafts
Everything’s in the car
Hubby checked the oil and tire pressure
It’s 5:00 a.m.
Time to leave
Only ten hours
With several stops along the way
A long way
But, at the end of the road
Kids and Granddaughters await my arrival.

Ha! I wrote a poem today too about you coming! A perfect pair!
ReplyDeleteBe safe, my momma! See in now 9 hours! A long day, a long drive, but a long hug will be waiting for you!
When you read this you will be safe and sound and ready for a perfect week with those you love! Like I said to Michelle, have a wonderful week and savor each moment!
ReplyDeleteI love Max's reaction to your words. I will be thinking of you today as you travel. Exciting days ahead for you and Michelle. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteLove your poem! Enjoy your visit! Grandkids are the best, aren't they? : )
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time. I'm looking forward to more posts about the same event! And, really nice you don't have to pack extra books! They take up a lot of room.
ReplyDeleteThe pups always know something's up when the suitcase comes out! So glad you'll be in our neck of the woods! Welcome!!
