This was a difficult book to get into, in fact I put it aside for over two months and then finally decided to finish it - not because I enjoyed it, more because I have a hard time leaving books that I have started. What did I get out of it, I'm not sure. It was hard to see how the characters related to each other until the very end. It was sad and yet there was hope and finally love. Would I recommend it? No and I don't think I will read anything else by this author.
