Tuesday SOL - 7/2/12 - It's Over - Our Girls have gone back home
It's hard to believe, but our two weeks with "our girls" is over. We had such a delightful time (along with some challenges - Grandma & Grandpa aren't use to being around 2 year olds 24/7!).
They were great little travelers down here and back home - I am still on the lookout for the excavators, tractors, cows, horses, all different kinds of trucks and of course, Jeeps. The list is endless as to what the girls noticed.
They got so excited to see the deer in our yard - sometimes up to 8 at a time. One day the faun visited and laid down to rest - Momma was no where to be seen, although I'm sure she was nearby. M & P always wanted to know "where deer go?"
There were our visits to the lake - they had fun playing in the sand and splashing Grandpa. M tried to blow bubbles, but never quite got her mouth close enough to the water. P cautiously sat and filled her bucket with sand. Neither one of them wanted to leave.
We have pictures of the girls from day 1 to current as our computer screen saver. They would just stand by the computer and watch the pictures scroll and comment with much surprise - "That's M or that's P - there's Mommy or Daddy". It's hard to believe how quickly two years have gone by and how much they have changed, grown and developed.
We read many books (sometimes the same book 3 or 4 times at one sitting). We watched the swimming trials for the Olympics and they were enthralled - when the swimmers got close to the end of the pool, P would say "turn around".
As Michelle listed last week, many events kept us busy and it was a great two weeks. They are definitely Momma's girls, but they brought lots of joy and fun into our relatively quiet lives.
And, just to let you know - Max survived and has been getting lots of sleep (and extra lovin') since the girls left - although he keeps checking the bedroom to make sure they aren't hiding. We will miss their comments, silly faces and antics and hugs, but soon enough we will get to see them again (and there is always our weekly Skype).

ReplyDeleteJudy,
ReplyDeleteGlad you got to spend time with your girls! Also glad Max survived! It's sweet how you wrote from his perspective...you should make that in to a book...the Max Tales!
Thanks for sharing!
Amy
