Tuesday SOL 9/18/12 - Hummingbirds

As I sit at my computer, I gaze out the window and watch the hummingbirds as the come to the feeder.  The last couple of days, they have been very active -

First one comes flitting by
and then another joins in the fun

Flying and chasing one another
Dive bombing, soaring, hovering
and then a moment to take a drink
and off again to land in the tree
and back.

They never seem to tire.  They appear to be having a lot of fun.  But soon, they will be gone.

I think they know I'm watching them and they are giving me moments to enjoy now and to sustain me through the winter months when they are gone.

    Hummingbirds are so delicate and beautiful. You've captured their movements in your words.

    I love the new fall background, soon the leaves will be changing and leaving too.

    Love the description of the playful hummingbirds! They are supposed to be a sign of good luck! We see them occasionally...what a special blessing to see them!

    Hummingbirds are so much fun to watch. I love it when they share the feeder and don't chase one another away.

    Oh, yes--love my hummers, too. Many have left my backyard. Nights are in the 40's. Can't believe some are still here. I've been missing summer for 3 weeks now. Enjoy seeing what you're reading.

SOL 18/31 - The Realtor's Came Yesterday

Yesterday, the realtor's came to look at our house.  Our realtor only brings his own people thru, so it wasn't too bad.  Max slept thru most of it until they went upstairs where he was sleeping.  He barked briefly, came downstairs, got petted and pampered a little.  They walked thru the house, in the bedroom, up the stairs, down the stairs, looked things over, asked a few questions and 15 minutes later out the door they went. Our realtor told me he has had a couple of calls - one from a neighbor (being nosy) and another from a realtor who said this house is exactly what his clients are looking for, but they had just left the day before it was listed.  But could they put in an offer sight unseen?  Really???  Is this just a realtor's ploy to make us feel good or is it real?  No offer yet, but who knows.  It could happen. Tuesday SOL 10/23/12 - Mr. Pockets goes to school

Last week there was an article in our local newspaper that I found fascinating and wanted to share it with you.  This is a story about a dog who listens as children read out loud.  It's a new program in our school district and I'm proud that our district is using this innovative program to help students learn. Animals are so loving, caring and accepting, and the students love to have someone that they can read to and to be loved unconditionally.
