Tuesday SOL 10/30/12 - A Delightful Birthday Week

For the past week I've been celebrating my birthday and what fun it has been!

I received many birthday wishes & cards
Phone calls from dear friends
Singing from my Granddaughters (and daughter)
And then,
A trip to Illinois for a visit with family & friends

M & P greeted me with hugs & Happy Birthday, Grandma!
I got to play, read, sing and watch all of their antics.
Listened to their twin talk
Questioning and answering
Carving pumpkins and trying on costumes
Enjoying every moment!

My birthday treat was taking care of the girls while
Momma & Daddy took an overnight retreat.
We played and played
Read and read
Snuggled for as long as they would sit still
Took walks, went to the library
Read some more

And now, my week is over and back home I must go.
But, oh what a delightful birthday it has been.

My prayers go out to all you are experiencing the effects of Hurricane Sandy.

    Sounds like it was a win win for both girls, mommy and daddy and you! Good for you for celebrating more than one day...I always try to do the same :-)

    It was an awesome birthday weekend - and I agree, I think we all got birthday wishes! Thanks for all your help and extra love. It's unbelievable how an extra set of hands and a little extra patience helps! Miss you already! Safe travels home. (PS Say hi to Grandpa and Max for us! Kisses too!)

SOL 18/31 - The Realtor's Came Yesterday

Yesterday, the realtor's came to look at our house.  Our realtor only brings his own people thru, so it wasn't too bad.  Max slept thru most of it until they went upstairs where he was sleeping.  He barked briefly, came downstairs, got petted and pampered a little.  They walked thru the house, in the bedroom, up the stairs, down the stairs, looked things over, asked a few questions and 15 minutes later out the door they went. Our realtor told me he has had a couple of calls - one from a neighbor (being nosy) and another from a realtor who said this house is exactly what his clients are looking for, but they had just left the day before it was listed.  But could they put in an offer sight unseen?  Really???  Is this just a realtor's ploy to make us feel good or is it real?  No offer yet, but who knows.  It could happen. I breathed a sigh of relief.  Max looked at me as if to say "Is that it?  Can I go back to sleep now?". ...

Tuesday SOL 10/23/12 - Mr. Pockets goes to school

Last week there was an article in our local newspaper that I found fascinating and wanted to share it with you.  This is a story about a dog who listens as children read out loud.  It's a new program in our school district and I'm proud that our district is using this innovative program to help students learn. Animals are so loving, caring and accepting, and the students love to have someone that they can read to and to be loved unconditionally.   We hear so much negativity and doubt that many become depressed in our country at this time.  It's time for us to look to the positive and find the magic that surrounds us.  Here's my list of Magic that I've discovered recently. A phone call from a friend I hadn't heard from in a while A text message wishing me a great day A positive reply to my "thought for the day" for Michelle & girls A hug or two or three from Hubby.  And some hugs given to special friends.
