Tuesday SOL 11/27/12 - Giving Thanks List - Part 2
Here's the rest of my list of things to be thankful for:
14. Our church, pastors, lay leaders and all of our church family.
15. My job - two days a week, working for two great guys, being able to take time off whenever I want, helping our wonderful clients.
16. Smiles and hugs - especially those from my two granddaughters. We can never get enough hugs!
17. The ability to make greeting cards to share with those I love and to send off to our troops so they can have cards to send back to their families
18. The ability to crochet prayer shawls to give to those who need to know that God is with them always.
19. A cup of tea to warm me when I'm cold and in need of comfort.
20. A delicious piece of chocolate to savor and make me feel good.
21. Farmers who raise cattle, hogs, sheep, corn, beans, etc. so that we can all have food to prepare and eat.
22. Thanksgiving Day - a day set aside to remind us of how blessed we are.
23. For our policemen and fire fighters who put themselves in harms way to protect us.
24. For enough firewood to keep us warm during the winter months.
25. For the aroma of fresh baked bread and freshly brewed coffee.
26. For the anticipation of the Advent season to prepare us for Christ's birth.
27. For our Center of Hope - a place where people in need can come to get the help they need. The working together of 30+ churches and 80 organizations to give and assist those in need.
28. For each new day that allows me to start over and try harder to be a servant to others.
29. For the Bible and prayers
30. And, (as I began this list), for my Lord and Savior and everything He has blessed me with.
So much to be thankful for - especially for each of you who read and comment and share your slices with each of us. Blessings to you all.

Great list Judy! We all have so much to be thankful for, I need to remember this when I get overwhelmed with activities.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing the "list" can go on forever! So important that we always remember and appreciate all we have even in the toughest of times! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it awesome to write down all that you are thankful for? What a great list! Love how you began and ended with the Lord. It does all begin and end there, so very fitting. Now I'm going to get a piece of chocolate to savor and make me feel good!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I got really intrigued by the prayer shawls. What are they??? You also reminded me to prepare and wait for Christmas; advent really is a special time.
ReplyDeleteA prayer shawl is either knitted or crocheted, is approx. 24" x 60". As the shawl is created, prayers are said during the process, and then they are blessed by our pastors and give them to Hospice House for their patients and family members or to anyone in need. We have a prayer shawl ministry at our church made up of 10-15 women who make the shawls. Check out prayershawlministry.com for more information. It's a wonderful ministry and so many people are blessed. Thanks for asking.
