Tuesday SOLSC 8/27/13 - Clearing Out

Today's the day.  
Yes, today, I'm going to do it.  
No excuses.  
It's too hot to do anything outside, so I just need to get started.  
Procrastinated long enough. 
Up the stairs
Open a storage bin
Sigh
Do I keep it, donate it, or throw it out?
Sigh
A pile for here
Another pile to go
A third pile to trash
Sigh
Why did I keep this?
Whatever was I thinking?
Open another bin
Oh, I don't remember this
On and on I go
Meticulously around the room
Open up a dresser drawer full of scraps of fabric
And then bits and pieces of yarn
And then pictures - can't take time to look
I'll never get finished.
After six hours, Hubby says "It's time to quit"
Yes, I'm almost finished.
I look around, smile with a sigh
And wonder why it took me so long to get started.
Ah, such of good feeling
To have a fresh room without clutter.

    That's the way to spend a miserably hot day! You accomplished so much and it feels good. I should do this, but I think I will wait for another day.

    Cheering! I find cleaning clutter to be one of the most daunting tasks. I like to tackle small spaces. You did a whole room. I am impressed.

SOL 18/31 - The Realtor's Came Yesterday

Yesterday, the realtor's came to look at our house.  Our realtor only brings his own people thru, so it wasn't too bad.  Max slept thru most of it until they went upstairs where he was sleeping.  He barked briefly, came downstairs, got petted and pampered a little.  They walked thru the house, in the bedroom, up the stairs, down the stairs, looked things over, asked a few questions and 15 minutes later out the door they went. Our realtor told me he has had a couple of calls - one from a neighbor (being nosy) and another from a realtor who said this house is exactly what his clients are looking for, but they had just left the day before it was listed.  But could they put in an offer sight unseen?  Really???  Is this just a realtor's ploy to make us feel good or is it real?  No offer yet, but who knows.  It could happen. I breathed a sigh of relief.  Max looked at me as if to say "Is that it?  Can I go back to sleep now?". ...

Tuesday SOL 10/23/12 - Mr. Pockets goes to school

Last week there was an article in our local newspaper that I found fascinating and wanted to share it with you.  This is a story about a dog who listens as children read out loud.  It's a new program in our school district and I'm proud that our district is using this innovative program to help students learn. Animals are so loving, caring and accepting, and the students love to have someone that they can read to and to be loved unconditionally.
