Tuesday SOL - 5/13/14 - What to write???
What to write?
My mind is blank
Nothing exciting (or unexciting) has happened
Hubby's suggestions fall flat
Just the mundane, slow paced life
But wait,
I have so much to be thankful for
I got phone calls and cards for Mother's Day
I have good health, with just a few aches & pains thrown in
I have family and friends who surround me with love
I have my faith in a loving God who blesses me daily
I have time to sit and read
or do my crafts, or do nothing
I have a beautiful home situated in a great area
I have our dog, Max, who is a joy
I have a writing community who reads and comments
I have exciting times to look forward to
A trip to Florida with family
A visit from family in August
A second trip to Guatemala
So even though I don't have anything
to write about, I have lots to be thankful for.

That's a great list and a great reminder to take the time and count our blessings!
ReplyDeleteYes, I felt the same way . . . no thoughts today but plenty to be thankful for as well . . . great list Judy and a great reminder ;-)
ReplyDeleteI understand the nothing to write (I'm trying to figure out my slice too). You do have a good life, so a thankful post is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteLoved that ending...it's what makes writing so meaningful - it gives us an opportunity to surprise ourselves.
ReplyDeleteGratitude lists are great reminders how blessed we are! We rarely take time out of our day to thank God for what He gives us -- reminds me of this quote: "What if you woke up today with only the things you thanked God for yesterday?" Always an important reminder to be thankful! And SO much to be truly thankful for! Love you Mom! m.
ReplyDeleteIt's a most special list, Judy. Lots to be thankful for and lots to anticipate! So happy to hear every item!
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate to drawing a blank on what to write on "Slice Day". I have often prayed for some kind of inspiration to come to me and somehow I always end up with something...although admittedly some weeks are better than others. I love your "grateful list".
ReplyDeleteJudy, you have just given me an idea for a blog post! And your post is just perfect! Finding the things in life that we are thankful for will only make the day better!
ReplyDeleteGratitude is the fuel for your post! I love how you turned your frustration around as you reflected - with gratitude!
ReplyDeletePausing, reflecting and being thankful are slice of life. Without the moment of pause the life would be less rich.
