Tuesday SOL - 6/24/14 - Summer Vacation

Thoughts on Vacation Fun
Driving - lots of traffic
New sights, new roads
Thank goodness for texting
More traffic at a standstill
Late arrival - who will get there first?
Arrival, unload the cars, unpack
What's for dinner?
Tired from driving and sitting in traffic
Tomorrow, what's our schedule?
Breakfast,
SUIT UP
The shuttle comes every half hour
Let's go to the beach
Get the toys, towels, sunscreen
Excitement
The girls can't wait - let's go!
Find a place to put our "stuff"
The waves, sand, people
Let's build a sand castle
Let's get in the water
Finding seashells
Burying feet in the sand
Oh, no, it can't be time to leave!
Tomorrow we'll go again.
Each day, more excitement and fun
The pirate ship cruise
Aye, Matey.  Arg.
More beach time, more pool time
More good food cooked by Grandpa
Tired, worn out, a nap (for adults and girls)
The week went on and came quickly to an end
Time to pack up and head for home.
A delightful time was had by all
New experiences shared with parents and grandparents

The girls never failed to delight us with their antics
and stories of what they did and enjoyed.
Memories made and looking forward to the next time together.

    It was such an enjoyable vacation! Lots of work, but worth the time we spent together! We are missing the beach time here! (But I'm still finding sand everywhere!)

    Beach is waiting for me in August. Perhaps the pool will work until then (less sand)! So glad you had a memorable vacation!

SOL 18/31 - The Realtor's Came Yesterday

Yesterday, the realtor's came to look at our house.  Our realtor only brings his own people thru, so it wasn't too bad.  Max slept thru most of it until they went upstairs where he was sleeping.  He barked briefly, came downstairs, got petted and pampered a little.  They walked thru the house, in the bedroom, up the stairs, down the stairs, looked things over, asked a few questions and 15 minutes later out the door they went. Our realtor told me he has had a couple of calls - one from a neighbor (being nosy) and another from a realtor who said this house is exactly what his clients are looking for, but they had just left the day before it was listed.  But could they put in an offer sight unseen?  Really???  Is this just a realtor's ploy to make us feel good or is it real?  No offer yet, but who knows.  It could happen. I breathed a sigh of relief.  Max looked at me as if to say "Is that it?  Can I go back to sleep now?". ...

Tuesday SOL 10/23/12 - Mr. Pockets goes to school

Last week there was an article in our local newspaper that I found fascinating and wanted to share it with you.  This is a story about a dog who listens as children read out loud.  It's a new program in our school district and I'm proud that our district is using this innovative program to help students learn. Animals are so loving, caring and accepting, and the students love to have someone that they can read to and to be loved unconditionally.
