Tuesday SOL 9/30/14 - The Anticipation is Building

A year ago I was very nervous with anticipation of a trip that I would take without my Hubby.  A Mission/Build Trip to Guatemala had been planned for over a year with lots of preparation, getting a passport, vaccinations, wondering what to pack, wondering what we would be doing, wondering how I'd travel without my hubby.

After I came back from that trip, I was a changed person.  I had been blessed to be able to help those in need of a house.  I had been blessed to visit another country and see so many different sights.  I had been blessed to learn about a different culture.  I knew that at some point I wanted to do it all over again.

And so, in less than a month, I get to go through this experience again.  We met with some of our team last week.  Half of our team of 14 is new to this adventure.  Those of us who had experienced this before, shared our thoughts and gave our words of wisdom to help qualm their fears and gave them suggestions for packing.  My brother is also going again this year and we talked over the weekend, both feeling confident in what we needed to pack and how our travels would go.  We're looking forward to new adventures, still in Guatemala, but to a different area.  Our anticipation and excitement is just a great as last year, but the fear of the unknown is not as pronounced this time.

  1. What a gift you give. A scary thing to go so far out of your comfort zone, but it sounds like what you got back from the first trip has pushed you to do more. Hope to hear more about your adventure. Good luck!
