SOL 10/31 - Crafting Together
Before Christmas, our friend sent us a picture of a wreath. It seemed simple enough to make, we had the necessary pieces, purchased a few items and quickly started to work.
It was a success, so we made two. One was given to our friend as a thank you for keeping Max. The other was given in a Chinese gift exchange with our family.
Did I say it was a SUCCESS? Our daughter was upset, she chose the gift, but it was then stolen from her. So she requested that we make one for her. Then several other people who visited expressed an interest in having a similar wreath.
Then our Pastor's wife suggested that we make them for the Craft Fair at church.
The other day our friend was looking at hers and asked if there was a way to change the decoration on the wreath to make it more springy.
And so, our crafting together has begun once again. Hubby cut the pieces and today we started putting another wreath together. (I know Michelle is thinking, "my birthdays coming, maybe it for me").
Here's the beginning of the wreath. It is made with
slices of a tree (approximately 2 to 3" in diameter) cut in slices of about 1/2" thick. Since we have plenty of small trees or limbs that have dried, we can make as many wreaths as we want.
This is the finished wreath from Christmas.
This is not the first time we've crafted together. Hubby helps do the coloring on the Christmas cards that I stamp and then assemble. We can be a very "crafty couple."

The couple that crafts together, stays together! Beautiful wreath, lovely post. Thanks for including photos!
ReplyDeleteA joint effort for sure. The wreath is lovely. I can see why Michelle was annoyed to lose it. Love the fact that you can use the fallen limbs laying around in the woods. Now that's recycling!
ReplyDeleteAs you know from reading my posts over the last several days, I am all for crafting together. Besides getting something accomplishes, it makes for great time together and great conversation. The wreath is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteVery cute Judy! I can see why Michelle was upset it was "stolen" :-).
ReplyDeleteYou know what they say about the couple that crafts together...
ReplyDeleteThere is one for me right??! Right?!? Happy crafting together -- it keeps Dad out of trouble too. :)
ReplyDeleteThe wreath is a beautiful way to bring the outdoors inside. Thanks for sharing your project! It's so special that you make them together!!
