SOL 3/11 - Taking a Big Step

If you've followed my Tuesday slices during the year, you might recall that last July we had a realtor do a market evaluation on our house.  We've thought long and hard.  We've tried to decide if this is the right time.  We've fixed a lot of little things that needed updating.  We've hemmed and hawed.  We've talked to others.  We prayed.

Yesterday, we took the BIG step.

We called the realtor and asked him to come out.

We made the decision.

We decluttered the counters.

We made it presentable for pictures.

We listed the house.

Tomorrow it will be on the market.

Yikes.  Gulp.  Second thoughts.  Did we make the right decision?  What if it sells right away?  What will be do?  What if nobody likes it?

  1. Judy, that is a huge step. God will guide you through his time as well.

  2. Wow. You did it? You really did it? You have prayed long and hard about this. God will be with you if it sells in a week or in a month or in a year. You've made the decision together. Just be prepared for anything and keep praying.

But, wow. I still can't believe it. How can 15 years go like {snap} that?

  3. Gosh Judy will you remain in the area? It is so hard when people come in and don't like your home...the place where so many memories are. I learned you can't take it personal but I was lucky our house sold pretty quickly. What a great new adventure for you and your hubby. I will stay tuned :-)

  4. Good luck with selling! Do you have a back-up plan for what the next step is? What a lot of work it is to prepare to sell, keep it clean, and possibly pack it up to move.

  5. Good luck in this endeavor. When we wanted to sell our house we buried a St. Joseph statue in the yard. It worked for us.

  6. Best of luck selling now that you've made a decision. Sitting on the fence can be comfortable for quite a long time, since it doesn't require commitment or action. Good luck with all the jobs that come with selling and moving!!

  7. Best wishes, Judy. It is a big step. You may remember I moved a couple of years ago, a tough move, but the new place fits so many needs better. I still miss my home of many years, and you will too, but change can be motivating too.

  8. Selling your house sounds like such a big deal. I've never done this, and always thought it must be very difficult to sell your house and buy a new house so that everything syncs perfectly. I like the way you listed each of the steps in the order they were supposed to go, and now you're on your way.
Good luck in the whole process.

  9. Wow! How exciting! What's next? Stay in the area or try somewhere new? Can't wait to hear!
