SOL 6/30/15 - My Mind's in a Turmoil

Since the middle of May, my mind has been going so many different directions and with so many different emotions running through it.  From the high of getting an offer on the house, to the lows of will it actually happen with everything else thrown in the middle.

We were excited to get the offer, to find the "perfect" home to move in to, to learn that the buyers' house closed.  The packing started and with each box that I packed, I would get a sinking feeling - wondering are the buyers really going to go through with the closing.  No word, silence, nothing was heard from the buyers.  I checked with our realtor, he was getting concerned that nothing has been issued regarding the buyer's loan.  And then, a call - the closing would need to be postponed from June 30 to July 10.  Sinking feeling.  What's happening?  What will we do if they don't close?  We prayed, we halted the packing, we prayed more - being more specific. 

Two weeks ago, we got some news - the loan process was proceeding and an appraiser came to do his job.  Last Friday our prayers were heard and answered - we got encouraging news from the realtor.  The appraiser had turned in his paperwork to the underwriters and all was looking good - the closing is still a go for July 10th.  A sign of relief, prayers of thanks and more prayers asking that it would continue to go smoothly.  Packing resumed.

And now, as I stand amid boxes and crates, my mind starts wondering - will it really happen?  What do we do if the closing doesn't happen?  Trying so hard to be positive and let God do His work.  But my mind is still in a turmoil.

    I was in this place almost three years ago, and the buyer halted, then had the changes made she wanted. Sorry for the upset, will be thinking of you for the 10th. Things take longer than they used to, don't they?

    We felt the same way 26 years ago when we bought our home. We hadn't yet sold our other home and we had a balloon mortgage to cover both. With prayers things worked out and we sold and closed our old home within two months.Things will work out for you as well. Keep the faith.

    Oh Judy how I remember the stress of the selling and moving process! Hang in there it will all work out. In a year you will look back and write a slice about it :-) V

    We're in the same boat - our June 23rd. closing is only happening tomorrow...but, it's happening, and yours will, too!

    Keep the faith, it will happen! I understand the turmoil. It is a domino effect when selling, then buying a home. I will think about you on the 10th.

SOL 18/31 - The Realtor's Came Yesterday

Yesterday, the realtor's came to look at our house.  Our realtor only brings his own people thru, so it wasn't too bad.  Max slept thru most of it until they went upstairs where he was sleeping.  He barked briefly, came downstairs, got petted and pampered a little.  They walked thru the house, in the bedroom, up the stairs, down the stairs, looked things over, asked a few questions and 15 minutes later out the door they went. Our realtor told me he has had a couple of calls - one from a neighbor (being nosy) and another from a realtor who said this house is exactly what his clients are looking for, but they had just left the day before it was listed.  But could they put in an offer sight unseen?  Really???  Is this just a realtor's ploy to make us feel good or is it real?  No offer yet, but who knows.  It could happen. Tuesday SOL 10/23/12 - Mr. Pockets goes to school

Last week there was an article in our local newspaper that I found fascinating and wanted to share it with you.  This is a story about a dog who listens as children read out loud.  It's a new program in our school district and I'm proud that our district is using this innovative program to help students learn.
