SOL 18/31 - My Joy of Spring Break

Not being a teacher, current or retired, I have a different outlook on "Spring Break" especially since we moved away from family.

Spring Break 
A week of free time
To spend with my daughter
and with my granddaughters
A time to laugh
play
relax
For them and for me
A time to enjoy
try new things
see things thru the eyes of almost 6 year old's
A time to celebrate
an anniversary
a birthday
or just a new day
A week that goes by
way too quickly
A week to cherish

    Everyone needs a spring break, even if you are retired and don't rely on a school calendar to set your days. I know you will savor every moment with the families you get to visit.

SOL 18/31 - The Realtor's Came Yesterday

Yesterday, the realtor's came to look at our house.  Our realtor only brings his own people thru, so it wasn't too bad.  Max slept thru most of it until they went upstairs where he was sleeping.  He barked briefly, came downstairs, got petted and pampered a little.  They walked thru the house, in the bedroom, up the stairs, down the stairs, looked things over, asked a few questions and 15 minutes later out the door they went. Our realtor told me he has had a couple of calls - one from a neighbor (being nosy) and another from a realtor who said this house is exactly what his clients are looking for, but they had just left the day before it was listed.  But could they put in an offer sight unseen?  Really???  Is this just a realtor's ploy to make us feel good or is it real?  No offer yet, but who knows.  It could happen. I breathed a sigh of relief.  Max looked at me as if to say "Is that it?  Can I go back to sleep now?". ...

Tuesday SOL 10/23/12 - Mr. Pockets goes to school

Last week there was an article in our local newspaper that I found fascinating and wanted to share it with you.  This is a story about a dog who listens as children read out loud.  It's a new program in our school district and I'm proud that our district is using this innovative program to help students learn. Animals are so loving, caring and accepting, and the students love to have someone that they can read to and to be loved unconditionally.
