SOL 29/31 - An Acrostic Birthday Prayer



Several years ago, I wrote this acrostic birthday prayer for Michelle and wanted to share it with you today, as Michelle celebrates her birthday, 

Dad and I want you to know that you are always in our prayers.  God has blessed us with so much, especially with a wonderful, caring and loving daughter.  So today we'd like to share some favorite Bible verses and our prayers to go along with each of them.

M - Numbers 6: 24-26 - MAY the Lord bless you and protect you.  MAY the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.  MAY the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace.
Michelle, we pray that God will always protect you, smile on you and give you peace as you go about each day of your life.
I - Isaiah 43:1 I have redeemed you.  I have summoned you by name.  You are mine.
Michelle, we pray that you will experience the joy that comes from realizing that God knows you by name and that He has called you personally.  May you have peace in the knowledge that you belong to God.
C - Psalm 51:10-11 CREATE in me a clean heart, O God. And renew a steadfast spirit within me.  Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
Michelle, we pray that you will have a good heart to care for and love all those who come into your life.  We pray that the Holy Spirit will stay within your heart and guide you down the right path.
H - Romans 15:13 - Now may the God of HOPE fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in HOPE by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Michelle, we pray that your faith in God will grow stronger each day and that the hope He gives you through your faith will bring you joy and that you will allow the power of the Holy Spirit to flow through your life.
E - John 6:47 - I tell you the truth, anyone who believes will have ETERNAL life.
Michelle, we pray that as you move through each day of your life here on earth that you will know that God has blessed you with eternal life in Heaven with Him.
L - 1 John 4:19 - We LOVE Him, because He loved us first.
Michelle, God has loved you from the day you were conceived and He will love you forever.  Because of this love, we pray that you will show His love in your every action and word.
L - Romans 6:23 - The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal LIFE through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Michelle, even when we sin, God forgives us.  We pray that you trust in God's promises as He works within your heart.
E - Psalm 37:5 - Commit EVERYTHING you do to the Lord.  Trust Him, and He will help you.
Michelle, little or big, no matter what troubles you, We pray that you will turn them all over to God.  Trust in Him always for everything.  We pray you live your life knowing that God will guide and direct you.

    Beautiful, just beautiful Judy! You and hubby did a wonderful job raising Michelle. . . a daughter who is smart, caring, passionate and loving! Wish the 3 of us were together to toast with her ;-) hugs

SOL 18/31 - The Realtor's Came Yesterday

Yesterday, the realtor's came to look at our house.  Our realtor only brings his own people thru, so it wasn't too bad.  Max slept thru most of it until they went upstairs where he was sleeping.  He barked briefly, came downstairs, got petted and pampered a little.  They walked thru the house, in the bedroom, up the stairs, down the stairs, looked things over, asked a few questions and 15 minutes later out the door they went. Our realtor told me he has had a couple of calls - one from a neighbor (being nosy) and another from a realtor who said this house is exactly what his clients are looking for, but they had just left the day before it was listed.  But could they put in an offer sight unseen?  Really???  Is this just a realtor's ploy to make us feel good or is it real?  No offer yet, but who knows.  It could happen. Tuesday SOL 10/23/12 - Mr. Pockets goes to school

Last week there was an article in our local newspaper that I found fascinating and wanted to share it with you.  This is a story about a dog who listens as children read out loud.  It's a new program in our school district and I'm proud that our district is using this innovative program to help students learn. Animals are so loving, caring and accepting, and the students love to have someone that they can read to and to be loved unconditionally. Tuesday SOL - 1/13/15 - Trying "To Do" Retired

Last week was my "first" week of RETIRED.  Humm.... just what does that mean? I can't say that it felt any different.  We just got back from being out of town for 10 days, so it was catch up time.  Picking up Max, unpacking, doing laundry, cleaning up the dead lady bugs that had accumulated on the floor, grocery shopping, mail...  The list seemed endless - retired???? Then a voice mail saying my aunt was in the hospital in Florida.  Many calls trying to figure out what was happening.  Many more calls checking up on her on a daily basis.  Thinks are improving. Now this week, things are slowing down, but how do I wrap my head around being retired?  How do I stop my brain from making my mental "to do list" of things that HAVE to be accomplished?  How do I decide what I REALLY want to do as opposed to what NEEDS to be done and when?  How do I answer people when they ask "what are you going to do now that you're retired?"
