SOL 7/31 - Max writes - New Trick

I've been begging Mom ALL week to let me write something to all my friends at TWT and FINALLY, she said okay.  So here goes....

As you know, I'm a pretty OLD dog - I'll be 15 in November - and I've got some medical issues - you know that ARTHUR person.  He took up residence in my back legs, but I haven't let him slow me down (too much).  In fact Mom says that I'm in my second childhood - acting like a pup (sometimes).  I wrote Mom & Dad while they were on vacation to let them know my latest trick:

"Hi Mom and Dad,
I hope you are having a fun time on your vacation and that you miss me.
I am having so much fun at Mr. Jim’s and Miss Carol’s house. I try very hard to keep them guessing and on their toes.
I learned a new trick. They have these really cool toilet paper holders that stand on the floor. Did you know that if you grab on to the paper, pull and walk away with it you can leave a really cool paper trail?  Talk about fun!
Of course, I get to explore the neighborhood and I think I know my way around pretty good. I’m friendly to everyone I meet. Just like you taught me
Seems like there is always something going on around here that interrupts my naps, but I make up for it in morning when it’s still dark!
Have fun. Be safe. See you soon.
Max aka Timex"

Mom took me to visit one of our new neighbors who loves dogs and thinks I'm adorable.  She invited us in and I began my search of the house (just to make sure there were no other critters hanging out).  I did manage to find a trash can that needed to be dumped and checked out, but Mom & Miss JoAnn caught me (in the nick of time according to Mom).  I think I'll still be invited back, but Mom scolded me.

All in all, I'm loving my new neighborhood.  I'll tell you more about that later this month.
Thanks Mom for letting me write today.  I'm really happy to be here with all these other writers.

  1. Enjoyed this post. It reminded me of the book Dear Mrs. LaRue: Letters from Obedience School by Max Teague. Dogs tell amazing stories, thanks for sharing this one.

  4. Max, you never fail to delight in telling a tale. I'm sorry Arthur has come to visit you. He bothers my knees every now and then too. Behave, then you'll get to write again.

  5. Happy you've had those adventures, Max, like making that nifty paper trail, and visiting the neighbor with an interesting trash can. And so glad you're still feeling like a pup in spite of Arthur. Take good care of your mom!

  7. Max, always causing trouble ... you are lucky you are so cute! Be a good boy and listen to your mom. Don't forget to look at her with the big puppy dog eyes. That's helps when you pull the toilet paper a bit too far. :) Glad to see you writing again this month!

  9. Max sounds like an awesome pup and I'm glad he had a great vacation while you were away. I've been experimenting with personification as I write through the view of my furry friends. It makes for a fun post! Thanks for letting Max share!
