Tuesday SOL 6/21/16 - A Visit with our Son & Daughter-in-law
Scott & Jen planned a trip to AR to celebrate Hubby's birthday. Since I was in IL, I got to ride down with them and not have to worry about driving by myself.
Our long weekend with them started on Thursday night when Hubby & Scott went to the gun club to shoot a round of Five Stand. Scott, being out of practice, didn't fare too good, but they had fun. Then Friday we decided to head to the Buffalo River and float for 2-1/2 hours in canoes. Jen had never been canoeing and she was fearful that Scott would tip over the canoe. The Buffalo is a beautiful river and we really didn't need to paddle, as the current was running rather swiftly. I spotted many fish and hubby was upset that he didn't bring his pole. The sun was hot, but it was cool on the river. A delightful afternoon.
The next day (after the boys went to the gun club), we visited a local winery. While we knew about it, we had never checked it out. Now we know what we've been missing all these years! Margie, the owner, certainly wined and dined us with some very tasty wines, balsamic vinegars, BBQ sauce, olive oils, pesto with explanations of each. We spend several hours sipping, laughing and enjoying a relaxing afternoon.
Sunday was just a "hang out" day. Of course, we had some tasty meals throughout the weekend, as both hubby & Scott are excellent chefs. It was a delightful weekend and ended all too quickly when they had to leave early on Monday.
But, come the end of September, we'll all be heading to the Boston area for a week of fun.

Sounds like the perfect visit, Judy. Happy Birthday to your husband! I've floated more than one river in southern Missouri so I kind of know how your time went-sounds lovely.
