March SOL 6/31 - Traffic in our Neighborhood

We live on a street that is the start of our neighborhood, Mallard Meadows.  We are set back from the main road that goes through the neighborhood, and it is one way in, one way out.  We love sitting on our front porch and watch all the traffic that comes and goes.

It's amazing the number of cars that go in and out before 8:00 a.m.  Our neighborhood consists of about 75-80% retirement people and there are only 28 - 30 houses.  We are of the belief that each household must own at least two if not three cars.  And believe it or not, most of those cars/pickups are white.

We decided that we need to set up a toll gate and collect 25 cents each way, along with names and addresses.  That way we would get to know our neighbors and what they drive.  And maybe they would slow down going around the curves.  It can be dangerous walking before 8:00 since most of them are in a hurry to get to wherever they are going.

We still don't know where all these retired people go this early in the morning.  And we've also noticed that they return within an hour (must be a McDonalds run) and then later, they are off again.

Sounds like we have too much time on our hands to just sit with a cup of coffee and watch the cars go by.
