Getting Excited - SOS #22 9/3/20

 

We had to cancel/postpone our BIG trip with family to Hawaii to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.  A big disappointment after so much planning, but we'll be patient and wait - it WILL happen next year!

So instead, we have a "mini" trip planned with our son and daughter-in-law to celebrate their 7th wedding anniversary and our 50th.  The reservations have been made for months and plans are underway.  We have a cabin rented at Big Cedar Lodge near Branson, MO.  It is an all inclusive resort and really no need to get into Branson.  We've planned meals and what we're going to do - swimming, a boat ride, hiking in Dogwood Canyon, playing games (golfing for them) and just a time to relax with family and a dear friend.  Oh yeah, and lots to eat and wine to drink!

A special dinner is planned at the Osage Restaurant at the Top of the Rock followed by the Sunset Ceremony.  

It's only for four days, but we are all looking forward to "getting away" from all the stuff that we are so absorbed with at the moment.

    Sounds like a wonderful time! I've always heard about Big Cedar and it's always positive. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and cool down just enough to make it comfortable. Have fun!

    I'm glad you are still celebrating with a small trip...and I'm sure Hawaii will be worth the wait. It is such a beautiful place.

SOL 18/31 - The Realtor's Came Yesterday

Yesterday, the realtor's came to look at our house.  Our realtor only brings his own people thru, so it wasn't too bad.  Max slept thru most of it until they went upstairs where he was sleeping.  He barked briefly, came downstairs, got petted and pampered a little.  They walked thru the house, in the bedroom, up the stairs, down the stairs, looked things over, asked a few questions and 15 minutes later out the door they went. Our realtor told me he has had a couple of calls - one from a neighbor (being nosy) and another from a realtor who said this house is exactly what his clients are looking for, but they had just left the day before it was listed.  But could they put in an offer sight unseen?  Really???  Is this just a realtor's ploy to make us feel good or is it real?  No offer yet, but who knows.  It could happen. Tuesday SOL 10/23/12 - Mr. Pockets goes to school

Last week there was an article in our local newspaper that I found fascinating and wanted to share it with you.  This is a story about a dog who listens as children read out loud.  It's a new program in our school district and I'm proud that our district is using this innovative program to help students learn. Animals are so loving, caring and accepting, and the students love to have someone that they can read to and to be loved unconditionally.
