SOL #1 – 3/1/12 Moving out of my Comfort Zone

SOL #1 – 3/1/12
Moving out of my Comfort Zone

My daughter, Michelle from Literacy Learning Zone, has been challenging me since last year to write for the SOL March challenge at Two Writing Teachers.  First off, she started me on a blog - just to keep track of all the books I read – yep, I can do that.  Then I started adding little snippets to “my” blog – it was just for me (and Michelle).  At the beginning of this year I selected “my one little word” – REFLECTION.  And so I’ve been doing some reflecting and adding those to “my” blog.

Then, the other day I mentioned that maybe I’d “try” to write something every day in March, to which Michelle replied, “You’re going to post it on Two Writing Teachers, right?”  I hemmed and hawed and said I’d think about it.  Well, I thought about it and here I am – my FIRST published post.  Talk about moving out of my Comfort Zone – me, a private person, not willing to share until I REALLY know you.  But, since I follow Michelle’s blog and some of yours, I feel that I do know you and look forward to becoming more acquainted.

Thanks, Michelle, for the encouragement to Move out of my Comfort Zone!

  1. MOM!! You are here! You are really, really here!! I'm so very proud of you. But know that you are not alone. There are many other "first time" slicers. Two Writing Teachers community is just awesome and you will see that by the end of the day!

It's hard to take risks, but only by taking risks we learn more about ourselves. Here's to learning!

(By the way, my mouth is still open in amazement! And you posted right before I did on the TWT blog!)

    Love you! Michelle

  2. Judy -
Congratulations on your blog post! I had to force myself to do this as well. Thinking it's like exercise, not easy to get going but eventually we'll feel the results. I hope this community will help us stay the course. By the way, your blog is great, and it looks very professional. Maybe I'll get around to making mine look good eventually too!

  4. I'm looking forward to reading more. I'm glad you took the risk. I have two sons who are always encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone. Isn't it wonderful to have grown children who believe in us? : )

  5. Hello Michelle's mom and welcome! This is so exciting and I can't imagine how proud Michelle is. We are very nice bloggers and you are in good company. Writing does put you out there, and sometimes that is an interesting place to be.
