Tuesday 12/27/16 - OLW

This past year, I struggled to find just the right word to live by and so I never made a decision.  During the last couple of weeks, I once again started pondering just what my OLW should be.

Yesterday as I sat on our front porch enjoying the warmth of the sun coming thru the windows, I took a look at our Christmas tree and the ornaments hanging around it.  There was one that caught my eye and the word popped out at me and said, "THIS IS IT".  Focus on JOY in 2017.

And so, my word was chosen.

I already have a lot of JOY in my life, so I'm going to focus on giving and sharing that JOY with others.  I'm going to focus on the every day JOY that I take for granted.

    I love that you are going to focus on giving and sharing joy. One of the reasons I've never picked joy was because I was focusing on myself. It never occurred to me to focus the word on others. Genius! Ha! My OLW is Choose.

    I love this word. It was mine a few years ago and it has stuck with me ever since. Wherever I am, I look for JOY. I hope it sticks with you as it did with me!

    You found OLW already. I like that it's not just about joy in your life but also about bringing joy to the lives of others. Such a warm and bright word.

SOL 18/31 - The Realtor's Came Yesterday

Yesterday, the realtor's came to look at our house.  Our realtor only brings his own people thru, so it wasn't too bad.  Max slept thru most of it until they went upstairs where he was sleeping.  He barked briefly, came downstairs, got petted and pampered a little.  They walked thru the house, in the bedroom, up the stairs, down the stairs, looked things over, asked a few questions and 15 minutes later out the door they went. Our realtor told me he has had a couple of calls - one from a neighbor (being nosy) and another from a realtor who said this house is exactly what his clients are looking for, but they had just left the day before it was listed.  But could they put in an offer sight unseen?  Really???  Is this just a realtor's ploy to make us feel good or is it real?  No offer yet, but who knows.  It could happen. Tuesday SOL 10/23/12 - Mr. Pockets goes to school

Last week there was an article in our local newspaper that I found fascinating and wanted to share it with you.  This is a story about a dog who listens as children read out loud.  It's a new program in our school district and I'm proud that our district is using this innovative program to help students learn. Animals are so loving, caring and accepting, and the students love to have someone that they can read to and to be loved unconditionally.
