Tuesday SOL 10/17/17 - Getting ready for another mission/build trip to Guatemala

The day is quickly approaching
The packing has begun
The airline tickets were purchased many months ago
The itinerary is in hand
Immunizations administered
Checklists almost complete
The anticipation is growing

Saturday we fly from Fayetteville, AR to Dallas to Guatemala City.  There are 16 of us from various parts of the U.S. meeting together to work with Thrivent Financal and Habitat Guatemala, building a home or working on smokeless stoves. 

This will be my fifth trip and as with each of the other trips, I look forward to working along side the Guatemalan people to help improve their lives in a poverty burdened country.  In the following weeks, I'll be sharing this experience with each of you.  We pray for God's blessings on our team as we share those blessings with others.

SOL 18/31 - The Realtor's Came Yesterday

Yesterday, the realtor's came to look at our house.  Our realtor only brings his own people thru, so it wasn't too bad.  Max slept thru most of it until they went upstairs where he was sleeping.  He barked briefly, came downstairs, got petted and pampered a little.  They walked thru the house, in the bedroom, up the stairs, down the stairs, looked things over, asked a few questions and 15 minutes later out the door they went. Our realtor told me he has had a couple of calls - one from a neighbor (being nosy) and another from a realtor who said this house is exactly what his clients are looking for, but they had just left the day before it was listed.  But could they put in an offer sight unseen?  Really???  Is this just a realtor's ploy to make us feel good or is it real?  No offer yet, but who knows.  It could happen. Tuesday SOL 10/23/12 - Mr. Pockets goes to school

Last week there was an article in our local newspaper that I found fascinating and wanted to share it with you.  This is a story about a dog who listens as children read out loud.  It's a new program in our school district and I'm proud that our district is using this innovative program to help students learn. Animals are so loving, caring and accepting, and the students love to have someone that they can read to and to be loved unconditionally.
